West Deptford Democrats Endorse Reid and Mehaffey for Township Committee


WEST DEPTFORD, NJ: By unanimous vote Wednesday evening, the West Deptford Democrat Executive Committee endorsed Adam Reid and James Mehaffey for Township Committee. The duo will seek to win two Township Committee seats currently held by Mayor Chintall, and formerly held by Samuel Cianfarini.


“ Adam Reid and Jim Mehaffey are a capable, strong team with deep roots in West Deptford. Adam is a young leader and proven vote getter who came very close to winning last year. Reid’s enthusiasm and common-sense proposals really connected with West Deptford voters. “, stated White.


“ Jim Mehaffey is a proven leader, both as West Deptford Chief of Police and President of the Board of Education. With his extensive experience, Jim Mehaffey will hit the ground running and focus on getting West Deptford services and finances back on a positive, sustainable track”, said White.


Mehaffey began his law enforcement career as a patrolman in the West Deptford Police Department. Rising steadily though the ranks, he served as Chief of Police from 1997 till his retirement in 2006. He was elected to the Board of Education in 2000, and served as President from 2002 through 2011.


Reid is employed as a Survey Technician by Stout and Caldwell Engineers, coached youth wrestling, and serves on the board of the Gloucester County Improvement Authority.
